Welcome to CONNECT SIX’s first Editor’s Pick!
Our team will be posting something like this once every month or two, where we will be highlighting games which we have played recently within our team and found them interesting to share with you. If you are new to these games and are interested in buying/renting them, these posts will prove helpful in making your purchase decision.
Remember, we will only feature the greatest and the latest! It's not too late to keep this blog in your Bookmarks list and you will constantly be gratified with games which we feel are must-haves in your wish list.
When it comes to modern day card games, there’s no other title that has come close to the success of Cards Against Humanity. A best-selling party game which has topped game sales on Amazon. Indecent. Offensive. Satirical. This was the game that achieved its crowdfunding goal of $4,000 on Kickstarter in merely two weeks.
HOW-TO-PLAY
To begin each game, each player is to draw ten white cards. The Card Czar––a player chosen through various random methods––starts the round by playing a black card, face up. Then each player is to pass one white card to the Card Czar, face down. The Card Czar then shuffles the collected cards and reads each black-white card combination to the rest. The Card Czar will then proceed to announce the best combination, granting the submitter of the white card an Awesome Point.
At the end of each round, each player is to draw 10 white cards. At the end of each subsequent round, another Card Czar is to be chosen.
REVIEW
The Cards Against Humanity card game is a highly customisable game, allowing players to set their own set of rules, such as the amount of Awesome Points to award for the winner of each round.
We spent our first weekend at our new office in Orion Industrial Building playing this card game. We agreed to increase the number to Awesome Points awarded with each new round and the game quickly escalated from a regular slow-paced card game to an intense match to be crowned the King/Queen of Awesome (that’s what we call our ultimate winner, who would inevitably be ‘persuaded’ to treat the rest of us to coffee).
Cards Against Humanity has also introduced various expansion packs for you to fully customise your gameplay (and you can view them here).
EDITOR's NOTE
What our greatest take away from that match was (besides the free coffee, of course) that we managed to survive the entire session without ever touching our smartphones.
Psst, some of us here at CONNECT SIX are still trying their hardest to quit their smartphone addiction. We ought to practice what we preach, right?
That's all that we have to share for now. Till then!
Regards,
The CONNECT SIX team
